This week’s photo challenge is all about Achievement and capturing that moment of meeting a long sought after goal. It could be anything from something tangible that you made to completing a marathon race.
I chose this photo of my boyfriend K that I took while we were ice climbing on Vatnajokull Glacier in Iceland. It was such a foggy day, it felt like we were climbing in a dream, off in our own little world. We were with a small group and all of us had done very well climbing the first two walls our guide has set up for us. Having confidence in our abilities, we then moved onto rappelling down this crevasse and climbing back out. Ice climbing on Europe’s largest glacier was an achievement in itself but getting to rappel into a crevasse was the cherry on top! I think this photo embodies the feeling of achievement and reaching our goal of ice climbing in Iceland.
